Learn a Trade | Entrepreneurship is the Answer

Is it a must that everybody must be educated? If I should suggest this question as a debate topic, I know a number of persons will be of the affirmation that all must be educated with thousands of reasons and proves to backup their opinion to this question.

But before I will continue, I would like to cite this true life story as an example or prove, confirming that it is not a must that everybody be educated. (On my own view you are free to quote me wrong).

In my early days in Secondary school in my third year during the period of Junior WAEC, my classmate then (female) took a decision to drop out of school because she considered herself to be very dull in all the class activities. Despite all my encouragement to her, trying to present to her the benefits of being educated she refused and heed to her decision.

Years later after her drop out of school, not knowing that she went on to learn a trade (Fashion and Designing), setup her own shop and in a very good business environment and started making cool money. The best part of all is that she later went back to school and now she is a graduate due to the fact that there was a change in her learning and studying abilities.

This may sound somehow contradicting, but her case is a different one because most people who find themselves in such state might not have the opportunity to embark on their educational pursuit because of the difference in learning abilities. So I will like to say that this set of people is what gave me the mindset to say that is not a must that all must be educated. The reason being that, in my days in the higher institution of learning, I came to find out that a good number of students both in my department and other department of studies, cannot read a simple comprehension passage. No come to think about this, what is going to be the future of these students after graduation.

No wonder the nation is said to be packed full of unemployed graduates from different institutions because of the very poor grades in which they graduated with from their different institutions of learning. If I may ask, being the owner of a great reputable organization, would you want to employ such a graduate to manage your establishment? Of course I know that the answer is perfectly NO.
Now considering the wasted years spent in school, resources, efforts etc are all in vain would it not have been better for these sets of student instead of wanting to become graduates went further to learn a trade, become masters of themselves, render services of different kinds to humanity and become life achievers?

There are a lot of trades which one can learn today that will turn out to be very paying. Like going into the computer business and sales of stationeries in higher institution environments knowing well that such institution are places that is involved with much paper work. So establishing these business will turn out to be a life blowing opportunity.

Some entrepreneurship trade that can fetch much money if set up in a well conducive and business environments.
i.                   Hair cut business.
ii.                 Tailoring business
iii.              Sale of clothes
iv.              Bookshop and Stationeries etc

Having in mind, that human learning ability can change at any stage, those that finds out that their case turns out to be different should think it wise to learn a trade that will in time to come become their source of livelihood. Entrepreneurship is the best answer…
